Students from Buckswood School

visited CSS

On 4th April a group of 14 students from Buckswood School, an IB school in the UK, came to visit CSS, specifically to experience the learning culture here. They spent their afternoon in Chinese Language Acquisition lessons and worked with our CSS students. We are impressed by their students' commitment to learn the Chinese language and our students enjoyed this opportunity to interact with young people of their age from a different country and culture.



HKDSE and IBDP Visual Arts Exhibition 2014

This is a collection of work produced by 27 Form 6 Visual Arts students over the past two years. The exhibition is an opportunity for students to present their work to a public audience, and is  an intergral part of the IB Diploma final assessment.






CSS programme on Digital Broadcasting Corporation

A group of students, parents and staff went to the DBC studios in Cyberport on 6 March to record a programme, in Cantonese, to share our views about CSS as a school. The programme was first broadcast on 12 March but can be enjoyed by going to the link below by 10 April:





School Production 2014 - Annie

After 5 months of hard work and dedication from a full cast of 40 students and 40 orchestra from Form 1 to Form 6 (not to mention stage crew, technicians and costume and make up assistants) The 4th Creative Secondary School Production spent a week of glory on the school stage. With excellent performances from all involved, it was a great opportunity for the school to come together to celebrate the talent we have. Over 1000 people gathered to watch the performances during the show week including invited guests from Kingston and Creative Primary School. Widely published author visits CSS

James Roy, an Australian children’s author with over 30 books published, visited CSS on the 25th February. He spoke to all Year 3 students during the day about his own introduction to writing – surprisingly it was via computer games!

Sports Team Update

We are very pleased to see a high level of participation of CSS students in various sports teams competing in so many external events. here are highlights of their recent achievements:

Boys Badminton - it's tough at the top in Division 1!! As a new school we are holding our own against the very strongest teams in Hong Kong.  Well done to A grade team for coming 4th and the B grade team for coming 5th this year.

Boys Table Tennis and Football teams have both been promoted up to Division 2 this year. So far A Grade Table Tennis team achieved 5th place.

Swimming & Cross Country teams have done very well in Division 3. In Swimming, Boys are overall 4th out of 36 schools and Girls are 5th overall out of 32 schools, with B grade Boys coming 1st and B grade Girls 3rd. In Cross Country Boys are 14th overall and Girls are 4th overall, with B grade Girls coming 1st.

CSS violinist wins first place in 

6th HK Students Open Music Competition 2013

Congratulations to Fiona Cheung in Secondary 3, for coming first in the Western Instrument Scholarship Class - Age 25 & Under category! To win in such a broad category open to any western classical instrumentalist aged 25 or under is a truly outstanding performance.

Cross Country Results

Congratulations to the CSS country country teams who did so well in the Hong Kong Inter-School Cross Country (Div III) competition on 22 November! This is the first time we have successfully fielded a full complement of six teams for this event. The Girls Grade B team were champions, and the Girls teams were 4th overall, with Nicole Shi F4De 1st and Zerlinda Lau F4Ja 2nd in Grade B and Juliet Reuvan F5Ba1st in Grade A.


HK Women's Hockey

CSS PE teacher Ika Lo captained the HK women's hockey team in 8th Women's Asia Cup,

QEF Grant to implement electronic registration

The QEF-funded project to provide students with a Smartcard has now been fully
implemented. At the start of the 2013 - 14 school year, apart from registering their
attendance electronically on entry to the school, students can also use this card to
manage their school lunch menu, to book library books and of course as a general
purpose student ID card.

Education Bureau Comprehensice Review endorses positive developments at CSS

The Education Bureau conducted a Comprehensive Review of CSS in May 2012. Its report was released on October 19th 2012.  

The findings are very positive and have validated the school's healthy progress over the past six years.  read more....
