Mr. Lee O’Leary BA (Hons), MPA, PGCE
Originally from the UK, Lee continues to enjoy over twenty years of teaching, learning and living in Hong Kong with his Chinese family. Having worked with the English Schools Foundation throughout this time he has specialised in the teaching of Film, TOK, French, Spanish and lower school Chinese. The last decade has been in senior administrative and leadership positions, particularly in areas of curricular development and student welfare. As Head of Academy for the Aga Khan Academies in Maputo, Lee oversaw the creation of a new school in Mozambique. Lee started his teaching career in the UK with a PGCE in French and Spanish and a BA Honours Degree in Hispanic Studies specializing in Portuguese & Spanish language, literature, film and history. He later attained a Master in Public Administration specialising in European environmental policy, law and cultural philosophy. An IBDP Principal and Senior Examiner in Film for over eleven years, Lee is also active in curriculum design for the new Film Studies course. He has worked with Hong Kong University for eight years
as a part time lecturer for the postgraduate teaching Chinese as a Second Language course alongside mentoring the student teachers of Chinese in school. When not boxing or hill running, leisure time includes playing or listening to music, reading, films, climbing mountains and immersion in new experiences.
