One of our students, Derek Yu (Form 4) who is a part of the Hong Kong Wushu Sanda Team was recently invited to participate in a very special performance called "我和祖國壹起成長" (I grew up with my country) in Beijing, China!
Derek had the honor of being part of this incredible event, performing at the prestigious National Grand Theater. The performance was even broadcast live on China's CCTV network. The Sanda team's performance was a huge success, and they were even interviewed by CCTV News!
Beyond the performance, the Soong Ching Ling Foundation arranged for Derek and participants to visit landmarks like the Great Wall, the Museum of Ancient Officials, and the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling. This was an invaluable opportunity for Derek to deepen his understanding of China's rich history and culture. Derek and his teammates returned home filled with a profound sense of pride in their motherland.
