Required for August 2026:
 

1. Academic Assistant Principal

Creative Secondary School is seeking an experienced Academic Assistant Principal to join the leadership team in August 2026. The successful candidate is expected to possess extensive curriculum and pedagogical expertise as well as a progressive vision of education of the 21st century. The Assistant Principal will lead and elevate all areas of the Learning & Teaching experience of students as well as staff development of the school. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a Vice Principal position subject to confirmation by the School Board.

More specifically, we are looking for a leader with a strong background in teaching, curriculum and pedagogical development, preferably in the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), as well as the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. This is because our F1-F3 students learn through the IBMYP, then move into the HKDSE in F4 and onwards, or join the IBDP for F5 and F6.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher with an Education Post-Graduate Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Senior School Administration and Leadership equivalent to Senior Graduate Master (SGM) level or higher according to the Master Payscale in Hong Kong.

  • Candidates with experience in both the Hong Kong Junior & Senior Secondary School curriculum (HKDSE), as well as experience and/or related qualifications in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes would be a definite advantage.

  • Candidates with experience in serving as Vice-Principal or Assistant Principal in DSS, Private Independent or International Schools in Hong Kong are preferred.

  • A Pedagogical leader – ability to help recruiting, managing and motivating teaching teams to deliver high quality teaching and learning and ensure excellence; Good working knowledge of both local and IB curricula.
     

  • A resourceful strategic planner and manager – methodical and effective in operational management of tasks and people, with skills and abilities to plan, develop and implement school policies.

  • A friendly, eloquent communicator – skilled in nurturing of positive relationships, motivating students and teachers to complete goals and problem solving with optimism and positivity.
     

  • A pragmatic administrator – skilled and experienced in management of budget and finances in a Direct Subsidy Scheme school, as well as a track record of successful application of external resources such as the QEF and other funding schemes in Hong Kong would be a definite advantage.
