From 9 to 14 February 2026, Creative Secondary School welcomed nineteen students and three teachers from our sister school, Hangzhou Yuhua Greentown School. This annual exchange continued the strong partnership between our two schools, following our students' visit to Hangzhou in October 2025.

Academic Integration and Educational Exchange

Throughout their time at CSS, Hangzhou students joined Form 4 and Form 5 Learning Buddies in daily lessons, experiencing our curriculum across different subjects. This lesson shadowing offered them firsthand insight into CSS’s teaching approaches and classroom dynamics.

The week featured visits to Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where students explored tertiary education possibilities. Our teachers introduced the HKDSE and IBDP pathways, broadening perspectives on academic routes available in Hong Kong.

Teachers and supervisors from both schools also engaged in professional dialogue throughout the visit, exchanging educational philosophies and teaching practices that deepened our mutual understanding.

Cultural Immersion in Hong Kong

The exchange brought students into Hong Kong's cultural landscape through varied experiences. Traditional Cantonese meals and dim sum introduced authentic local flavours, while hands-on workshops in Hong Kong-style milk tea preparation and siu mai making blended culinary tradition with practical learning.

Cultural visits to the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Avenue of Stars connected students with the city's artistic heritage. The week concluded with the Exploration Programme at Hong Kong Disneyland, featuring Disney's World of Physics workshop that combined learning with entertainment.

Cross-School Connections

Equally meaningful was the role of CSS Host families, who welcomed Hangzhou students into their homes, sharing daily life and creating personal bonds that extended beyond classroom walls. These intimate exchanges, shared dinners, evening conversations, and weekend moments added warmth and depth to the formal programme.

This spirit of connection flourished during the Creative Chinese Festival, which provided a memorable highlight for Hangzhou students. They performed songs and poetry that honoured the New Year spirit, bringing both communities together in cultural celebration.

The friendships formed during these six days have strengthened the ties between our two schools. What began as an exchange programme has grown into something deeper, a relationship built on curiosity, respect, and shared purpose. We will carry these connections forward and look forward to continuing our story together in the years ahead.
