The Drama Department was delighted to have The Hong Kong Puppet and Shadow Art Centre present a Chinese Puppetry demonstration to Form 1-2 students on 8 November 2022.
As part of the Drama curriculum, Form 2 students are researching different types of puppetry traditions around the world - Puppet theatre can be largely categorised into shadow plays and puppetry. They are different in terms of the design, appearance of the puppets as well as staging. This showcase provided students with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience to watch rod puppetry, hand puppetry, Quanzhou String Puppetry and shadow puppetry from China. Some students even had the opportunity to go up on stage and gave it a try!
