On 25 April 2025, CSS students participated in the Spanish Language and Culture Festival at St. Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School, joining peers from schools across Hong Kong for a day immersed in Hispanic language and traditions. Our Spanish teacher served on the organizing committee, helping to create an event that brought language learning to life through performance, food, and cultural exchange.

Form 2 students performed "Impacto" by Enjambre, bringing energy and confidence to the stage. Students from other schools approached them afterward asking about the song, which turned into conversations about music and Spanish class.

Form 5 students followed with a comedy sketch about celebrating New Year's Eve with Bad Bunny, adding their own twists to his songs. The humor landed well and the sketch showed how much more comfortable they've become speaking Spanish.

The day also included a piñata party and authentic Latin American food like Colombian arepas and Mexican esquites. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy for students to practice Spanish with new people and enjoy the cultural activities.

The festival gave our students a chance to use their language skills in a real context and connect with others learning Spanish. They came back with new friends and plenty of stories about the day. It was a good reminder that language learning extends beyond textbooks and grammar exercises.
