Kaayra, Olive, and Ayden, students from Form 4 Delonix, Form 3 Delonix, and Form 3 Bauhinia, respectively, shared their Shrek Jr. Musical Experience. Despite having different roles in the musical, they all found this experience rewarding and memorable. At the end of their sharing, they revealed that our musical will be featured on the show “學界 Creative, Like and Share” on ViuTV Channel 99 on 25 Jan (Sunday) at 10 am.

Written by Kaayra BHAMBRY(Form 4), Olive LEE (Form 3), and Ayden WONG (Form 3)
Kaayra: Good morning, Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, and our fellow students. I’m Kaayra from Form 4 Delonix.
Olive: I am Olive from F3 Delonix.
Ayden: I am Ayden from Form 3 Bauhinia. Today, we would like to share our experience with the school musical, Shrek, and our feelings after the show.
Kaayra: Shrek Jr. The Musical is a story of self-acceptance, community, and inner beauty, all wrapped up in the tale of Shrek, Princess Fiona, and a talking donkey.
Olive: The Musical involved approximately 40 cast members, and 100 students across the production teams, our wonderful set design team, costume and makeup team, orchestra and band, and the backstage crew.
Ayden: We started all the preparation work and rehearsals all the way back in June, up until the final performance, which was right before the winter holidays, on December 16-18.
Kaayra: It was a huge success. More than 600 audience members attended our musical in the school hall. Let me recount my first audition for Shrek. I was terrified when the cast list came out. I got the role of the ugly duckling and the duloc dancer. I wasn't very happy about it. However, I was determined to try my best throughout the production. With the roles I got, which I first hated, I slowly started to warm up to them, then loving the characters that I will never forget. The rehearsals were filled with many unforgettable memories, such as we all laughed hysterically when messing up a scene, or warming up with Just Dance. I made many friends and felt like our cast has become a family. After this production, I started wondering if I could pursue an acting career in the future. I also learned how to balance my school life with my social life as well as my theatre life. What about you, Olive?
Olive: My favourite days were the Saturdays, even though we had to go to school on the weekend, I got to spend the time getting to know some of my castmates from different forms, I would carry Kaarya on my shoulders after every dance rehearsal, and sing songs from popular musicals. Ayden, what is your favourite moment?
Ayden: My Favourite moment is the cheers from our cast when we finished the final show. Even though we were happy that the show ended, everyone was still emotional. It might be the last time that the whole cast stands together as one. As Kaayra said, our cast is like a family, and I will never forget all the memories we made together. I also enjoyed every dance rehearsal we had. At first, I couldn’t keep up with the pace, but my peers like Sabella and Diyana, helped me through it. Throughout the show, I learnt valuable musical techniques, and more importantly, how to care for others' emotions and proactively offer support. I want to thank all the people who guided me throughout the show, and I truly believe I've made some great friends.
Kaayra: This musical would be impossible without the people who were supporting us behind the scenes. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the people who played a key role in this production. Firstly, we would like to thank Mr. Kevin Toong and Ms. Tiffany Lo, our directors, whom we very frequently annoy, despite that, they were very patient with us and encouraged us with every move; Sofia and Jasmine, our alumni and choreographers; Mr.Daniel Kam, the band leader; Mr. Alvin Kwok for conducting the orchestra; Ms Agnes Q. for training us how to sing properly; Ms. Nico Ma & Mr Churchill Lee for leading our impeccable backstage team and many other people making this show possible.
Olive: Last but not least, our Musical will be featured on the show "學界 Create, Like and Share" on ViuTV programme Channel 99, on 25th January (Sunday), at 10 am. Details have been sent to you via school email.
Ayden: 最後,我們排練Shrek的精彩片段將會在在1月25日(星期日)上午10時在ViuTV 99台上播出。節目名為 "學界 Create, Like and Share",詳情大家可以參閱早前學校發出的電郵。謝謝各位!
