Flag Raising Ceremony Students’ Sharing 2026-1-29

Jolly and Edith, students from Form 4 Bombax and Form 4 Jacaranda respectively, shared what they saw and heard in Hangzhou with all students. They had different activities, like watching a show called “Song City Eternal Love 宋城千古情”, sharing Hong Kong snacks with local students, meeting some German students and spending time with their host family.

Edith: Good morning, Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, and our fellow students. I’m Edith from F4 Ja.

Jolly: 我是中四紅棉社的Jolly.

Edith: Jolly, do you know who is visiting us from 9th Feb to 13th Feb?

Jolly: 當然知道啦！他們是來自我們的姐妹學校——杭州綠城育華學校的師生。每年十月，我學中二至中四的學生都會受邀到杭州參加他們的國際文化節。中國新年前，他們也會來香港參加我們學校的慶祝活動。Edith，你還記得我們在杭州做了什麼嗎？

Edith: Of course. We had a performance to promote Hong Kong culture at the International Cultural Festival. We also watched a show called “Song City Eternal Love” (宋城千古情). This show presents the history of Hangzhou Song City back to the Neolithic Age. It is a must-watch show!

Jolly: 這個表演確實值得一看。除了了解杭州的歷史以外，我們也在育華國際文化節期間擺設攤位，與當地的學生分享香港的特色小吃，同學們也對這些很感興趣。

Edith: I still remember that we shared some Hong Kong political and cultural history with them. I have a deep understanding of the differences between the Mainland and Hong Kong! Besides, we also met some students from the German School there and chatted with them, it was inspiring talking to them!

Jolly: 我完全同意！和不同背景的人交流真的很有啓發性。德國的學生早前在十月也曾來我們學校交流，有一位德國學生還送了一個可愛的玩偶給我，跟著我們上了一天的課，所以我對他們的印象也特別深刻。

Edith: And now the Hangzhou students are visiting us, Jolly. How do you feel about that?

Jolly: 我特別期待他們的到來，想到可以再與杭州的夥伴相聚，帶著他們體驗我們學校的學習氛圍，還可以帶他們體驗香港本地文化和特色，想想就覺得興奮！

Edith: That's why I’m always passionate about being a buddy for the exchange students. It’s not just an opportunity to make new friends, it’s also a chance to step out of my comfort zone and explore the world around us. I strongly encourage you to consider signing up for any school exchange programmes. It's a fantastic experience for all of us!

Jolly: 我也鼓勵大家能主動與杭州的同學交流，如果他們有需要的話，也請盡力幫助他們解決問題。

Edith: Please say hi to Hangzhou teachers and students when you see them in school and offer help if needed.
