Sareesa and Melody, both students from Form 6 Juniper, delivered a speech about their last day as F6 HKDSE students. They talked about their most memorable moments and expressed gratitude to the principal, teachers and all the staff at CSS.

Written by Sareesa AHMED (Form 6) and Melody CHENG (Form 6)

Sareesa: Good morning, Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, and students. I’m Sareesa from F6 Juniper.

Sareesa: I’m sure most of us, F6 HKDSE students, have been waiting for this day, as it is the last day of school for us. Then we will begin our study break before the HKDSE examinations in April and May, while the IBDP students will have an additional month of classes before their study leave begins.

I can’t believe that we are leaving school so soon. I still remember a vivid moment in F4 when our diploma placement letter was finally handed out. Although I had prepared myself for either outcome, seeing "DSE" on my paper at that moment brought a wave of mixed emotions, especially when all my close friends got into the IB stream. However, after these 3 years, I would like to share with you that I have managed to make even more memories and friends now as an HKDSE student. We don’t always receive what we wish for at first, but fresh opportunities grow in the waiting.

Sareesa: Above all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my teachers, who are so much more than curriculum experts. They were the ones who actually cared, sat with us through the stress, and never gave up on us when we felt like we were failing. To the janitors and other staff, thank you for keeping our campus clean and organised. The effort you’ve put in is greatly appreciated and recognized. To my friends: thank you for helping me survive the bad days. You made the difficult days much easier to handle and the good days truly unforgettable. All your support turned a nervous transition into a journey we all shared together. I’m so thankful for every memory we made, and the version of myself I am today because of you all. It’s honestly surreal watching our teachers give their final lessons to us, knowing that next year, they’ll be starting over with new kids, and we’ll just be a memory to them. Walking out of the classrooms for the last time is going to be the hardest thing we’ve had to do.

Sareesa: Exactly! Let’s carry the spirit of our time here into everything we do next. I do not doubt that each of us will achieve a great future, and I can't wait to see where our paths lead us. Thank you for every laugh, every tear, every shared dream that will now just be a memory, and good luck to the Class of 2026! Thank you.
