Thank you, Sarika. Please give Sarika a big round of applause -not only for stepping up to share today, but for coming up with this wonderful theme all on her own. Her sharing is a great reminder for us to treasure the present, while also inspiring us to think ahead to our future.
Speaking about the future, the " Tiangong Class" 天宮教室 - an aerospace science education activity was held yesterday morning. Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, the Macao SAR Government, and the China Manned Space Agency, it brought together more than 200 Primary, Secondary and Tertiary students, researchers and technology professionals from Hong Kong and Macao to interact directly with the space experts, while many of you were watching the live broadcast at our school Hall.
During the 1.5-hour lecture, the three astronauts of the Shenzhou-23 crew 神舟二十三號, who are currently carrying out a manned space mission on the Chinese Space Station, including Hong Kong's first payload expert Dr Lai Ka-ying黎家盈, served as "space teachers" to deliver expert lectures to students, conduct real-time science experiments, including baking a cake in the space kitchen, wringing out a wet towel, and tending the space vegetable garden, demonstrate in orbit, and conduct a student question-and-answer session.
With mainland China’s development plans and Hong Kong’s growing “NewSpace” ecosystem, students today have access to different pathways, and there are growing opportunities in aerospace.
As you start thinking about your future and exploring your interests and aspirations, Aerospace is an exciting area for all of us to investigate.
