CSS recently partnered with the Federation of Youth (FYG) Groups to involve Form 4 and Form 5 students in the community service project focused on elderly care.
Through five OLE sessions, students cultivated empathy and communication skills while preparing handmade gifts for the local community.These workshops provided the necessary preparation for their visit to an elderly home in Po Lam, where our students and the residents spent time in each other's company.They shared songs together and collaborated on making traditional mugwort massage hammers(艾草錘), turning the workshop into a space for laughter and conversation.
These moments of music sharing and crafting together with the elderly helped the students better appreciate the life stories of the elderly and the impact of simply being present. By connecting with the community in this way, our students were able to look beyond their school lives and reflect on the value of simple, thoughtful actions.
