Valuable Insights into University Life

Recently, our Form 6 students visited the University of Hong Kong, where they gained valuable insights into university life. Aaliyah Anit found the session with current students particularly helpful for her decision-making, while Jasmine Nizal was intrigued by the diverse programmes and unique electives offered. The visit deepened their understanding of HKU’s vibrant community.

Our visit to HKU was certainly enlightening. We were introduced to the diverse range of undergraduate business programmes offered by the university, followed by a brief taster course in marketing. What I found most interesting was the sharing session where current HKU students offered insights not only into their respective courses but also their campus life, living expenses, and career prospects. As someone who is currently uncertain about university choices and applications, I found this information to be particularly useful in my decision-making. The visit concluded with a campus tour which was also a good opportunity to engage with current students and faculty, allowing me to gain a better understanding of the community and culture at HKU. Overall, this visit allowed me to further explore my academic interests as well as envision my potential university life at HKU.

Jasmine Nizal (Form 6)

HKU’s business faculty gave us an informative presentation about life at HKU. They did a good job advertising their unique electives, and my peers and I were particularly intrigued by the BBA(Law) major they offer. I was especially drawn to the dual degrees, university collaboration programmes, and the structure of major/minor courses at HKU. The university offers a wide variety of programmes that support every career path. The university representatives also demonstrated how HKU has provided them with useful connections in internships and future jobs. Moreover, the student ambassadors were very helpful and answered any questions we threw at them. They gave us realistic insights on what to expect when facing uni life as an HKU'er. After this visit, I am definitely more attracted to HKU. The scenery on campus is also so memorable, each crook and cranny is filled with so much history.
