Teacher of Biology

Creative Secondary School is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Teacher of Biology, to start in August 2020. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and contribute to the design and implementation of the IB Middle Years Programme, Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education and the IB Diploma. Experience in these programmes is therefore preferred but less experience will be considered for the right applicant. 
 

The role will entail the teaching of IBMYP Integrated Sciences to Forms 1-3, and the HKDSE and IBDP Biology programmes for Forms 4-6. The post is ideal for individuals who are looking to develop their practice in a vibrant, innovative and collegial department.

 

This is a position for which the following are essential:

 

  • a bachelor degree in Biology or related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification i.e. PGDE or equivalent

  • a minimum of two years’ experience teaching Biology as a discrete subject

  • A strong level of fluency in English

 

This is a position for which the following are preferred

 

  • experience in MYP teaching and curriculum planning

  • experience in IBDP Biology or HKDSE Biology

  • Experience of adapting lessons for English 2nd language learners

  • Pastoral experience e.g. experience of being a tutor

  • Ability to offer one or more co-curricular activities
