Chinese Culture Week 2026: Embracing Tradition and Community Spirit
From 22 to 24 September 2026, CSS's CLACH Team (Chinese Language, Arts, Culture and History) organised a series of activities for this year’s Chinese Culture Week. Under the theme “Shared Wisdom in Harmony, Unity in Diversity” (智智與共,和而不同), students explored Chinese heritage and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival. The activities also encouraged students to reflect on this year’s CLACH value of righteousness (義).

On 22 and 23 September, students engaged with Chinese values and principles through a series of fun traditional knowledge challenges such as the Silk Road Challenge, ancient imperial examination simulations, and workshops exploring traditional Chinese weighing scales and justice systems. Students also experienced ancient sports and arts through activities such as DT & VA stencils coloring with Qilin Motif (麒麟拓印) and an ancient Chinese football competition, Cuju (蹴鞠).

On 24 September, CSS celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with the whole community. Chinese music performances accompanied the game booths, bringing a vibrant Mid-Autumn atmosphere to the school. Students participated in Touhu (投壺), snowy mooncake-making workshops, and lacquer fan (漆扇) decoration, while delving into the festival's traditions through lantern riddles.

This year's focus on righteousness (義) reminded our community that genuine connection lies in upholding fairness, taking responsibility, and supporting one another in our daily lives. Through Chinese Culture Week, students developed a deeper understanding of Chinese heritage while building character and community bonds.
Just as the full moon symbolises unity and completeness, our celebration reinforced the importance of mutual support and contribution to our families, friends, and communities. We thank the CLACH Team, student ambassadors, and all participants who contributed to this memorable week.
