Creative Secondary School joined the Hong Kong U19 Softball Elite competition, held from 20th April to 25th April. We played 4 games against different teams, from school teams to baseball teams and came 3rd place in this tournament.
In the round robin session, we came equal first with Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary School. However, on battling averages, we narrowly missed going into the Championship Final.
We won easily 18-1 for our match for third place against a baseball team. Matthew Ho (F4 Ju) also won the Batting Champion Award of this tournament.
For the Hong Kong Softball girls, both Shirley Chan (F2 De) and Sharon Chan (F.2 De) participated in this competition as part of Heep Yunn School Team and came 2nd place. Our teammates and coaches are proud of them to see their amazing plays and strong interest towards softball.
Throughout this competition, Bosco Ko (F4 Bo) and Kenneth Ho (F4 Ja) as captains can definitely see our team growing and improving. There were certainly ups and downs, yet we discussed and worked together as a whole to solve problems. It is known that if we scored one more point and won instead of a tie in our first match, we would directly enter into the finals. However, the outcome of not getting into the finals is a good indicator to let us reflect and improve as it is better to know it earlier than later. Thank you to all coaches that have helped us. Overall, it was a fun experience and we are happy with where CSS softball team is at.
